What we assist with
Three certificates, one inspection team
Depending on your property, more than one certificate or test report may be required. These fall under different regulations and are not included in the standard Electrical CoC.
Electrical CoC for Residential Properties
SANS 10142-1:2024 Edition 3.2
The standard Electrical Certificate of Compliance for a home. We carry out a full visual inspection and comprehensive testing of the fixed electrical installation, and the certificate is issued once the installation complies.
- Plugs, light switches, cable selection and distribution boards
- Circuits supplying fixed appliances such as stoves and geysers
- Issued only after inspection and testing by a registered person
Solar / PV / Generating Plant CoC or Test Report
SANS 60364-7-712:2018 Edition 2
Solar and generating plant installations fall under their own regulation and are not covered by a standard Electrical CoC. The installation must comply with SANS 60364-7-712 and be tested before a Solar or SSEG CoC can be issued.
- A separate test report is required by current regulation
- Inverters, batteries and panels are not part of a standard CoC
- Tested against SANS 60364-7-712 before the certificate is issued
Electric Fence CoC (EFCoC)
SANS 10222-3:2023 Edition 5.1
An electric fence installation is certified separately from the electrical installation, under its own standard. If the property has an electric fence, tell us when you enquire and we will include it in the inspection.
- A separate certificate to the electrical CoC
- Issued against SANS 10222-3
- Assessed as part of the same visit where possible
